A report has been sent to the Opp to assist with the situation and our By-Law Enforcement Officer will be doing more monitoring in the coming weeks.

    WHEREAS the amount of single-use plastics leaking into our lakes, rivers, waterways is a growing area of public concern; and

    WHEREAS reducing the waste we generate and reincorporating valuable resources from our waste stream into new goods can reduce GHGs significantly; and

    WHEREAS the transition to full producer responsibility for packaging, paper and paper products is a critical to reducing waste, improving recycling and driving better economic and environmental outcomes; and

    WHEREAS the move to a circular economy is a global movement, and that the transition of Blue Box programs would go a long way toward this outcome; and

    WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of East Hawkesbury is supportive of a timely, seamless and successful transition of Blue Box programs to full financial and operational responsibility by producers of packaging, paper and paper products; and

    WHEREAS the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) has requested municipal governments with Blue Box programs to provide an indication of the best date to transition our Blue Box program to full producer responsibility;

    NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:

    1. THAT the Corporation of the Township of East Hawkesbury, operating a blue box collection system with two (2) other adjoining municipalities under an Inter-Municipal Joint Service Agreement and under the heading “HAWKESBURY JOINT RECYCLING- PROGRAM 249”, have unanimously agreed that we would like to transition our Blue Box Program to full producer responsibility effective January 1, 2023;

With no objection, the monthly report for the Roads department, fire department, building department and road department as distributed be received read and filed.

Bring back the section Administration of the reporte for proposed Mutual Aid to next regular council meeting in August.

Next CPAC meeting will be in July would like to use the council of chambers. Council agrees to lend the room.

    Be it resolved that Council approves the request for lot enlargement, Anatoli Nikoula, affecting lot 18,Commons 19 & 20, Concession 8, subject to the following conditions:

    • That administrative fees in the amount of $100.00 be paid to the Township of East Hawkesbury;
    • That application review fees in the amount of $200.00 be paid to the Township of East Hawkesbury.
    • That payment of the balance of any outstanding taxes, including penalties and interest, shall be paid to the municipality.
    • That the owner obtain a zoning amendment application in order to prohibit any residential use on the selected lot (B).

This is a police matter Simon will bring it up to the next police department meeting for the moment the speed limit will stay the same.

    Be it resolved that Council approves and agrees to award the contract for the demolition of the old Co-op on condition that the contractor provides proof of insurance in the amount of $5,000,000. And that the Municipality install a fence at the entrance.
